Hoodzpah Redesigns OC METRO and OC Family Magazine Media Kits
We do a lot of right-brain favoring design here at Hoodzpah. But there is something to be said about a good, clean, corporate design. Especially when it sneaks in some right-brain theology. Hoodzpah recently was hired by Churm Media (an Orange County niche media company that is hugely involved in the local community via online newscasts, radio shows, magazines, and more) to help redesign two of their sub brands’ media kits for the 2012 selling season. Those brands are the widely recognized Orange County magazines OC Family, and OC METRO (gotta respect a mag that shuns title case for cap case). For the media kit rebrand, we got to work closely with CEO of Churm Media and OC METRO publisher Steve Churm, as well as Churm Media art director Luke Hodsdon (who we know personally – he’s a super smart designer and does some amazing photography and design work, which you can check out at his freelance studio site: Nine Three Studio).
Under Steve’s direction and Luke’s helpful oversight, we aimed to create new media kits that would read easier, have more hierarchy regarding statistic and information layout, give insight into the style of their respective magazines, and serve as powerful selling tools for sales associates at Churm.
After about a month of planning, close cooperation and edits, we arrived at the new and improved set of media kits you see below (click to enlarge the group and detail page images). Steve, his sales team, and the art director were all stoked with the end result: media kits that are both professional, exciting, and engaging to look at (to paraphrase some of the feedback).
