Luke Bickley Studio Logo
Luke Bickley is a talented, up-and-coming Australian surf enthusiast and videographer. He decided to funnel his talents into a production company of his own. Like peanut butter and jelly, Chachi and Joni, Elton and Bernie, every new company needs it’s trusty sidekick – it’s logo. The logo is a company’s first day of school outfit – it tells others what to expect without trying too hard or looking too newbie.
For Luke Bickley Studio, Luke initially wanted to integrate a triangle shape into or around his logo type. He also wanted to try out hand drawn scripts for his name’s font. His aesthetic was simple yet a little gritty. So we put together some initial concepts for him and let him put his toe in the water. Initial concepts revealed he wanted a more free form logo, without the boundaries of a shape around it. So we dropped the triangles, and just focused on unique, hand-drawn or painted fonts for his company name. India ink and a bamboo brush brought original and organic-y letter forms to life. After a few tweaks in the final round of revisions, we arrived at the final signature font Luke liked best. Files were saved, .eps-es were sent hopefully into the ether towards Australia, with dreams of being blown up into signage and banners and all manner of branded products.
Luke was thrilled and we had lived to tell another tale to you. To check out some of Luke’s work, visit his Vimeo library here: http://vimeo.com/user154877
