Whenever you have the chance to work with people from Nashville, you do. Especially when it involves a film festival and it’s Andy Peterson knocking down your door. He’s a man with impeccable taste, style, and musical inclinations. He asked us to help him and the Propeller team in branding a project: The inaugural Resonate Film Festival, the newest offering of the International Christian Retail Show. The event is a showcase of feature films making an impact in the faith market and beyond, going on July 16-18 in Orlando, Florida.

In usual Andy fashion, he gave us a few pointers and then let us have a large piece of “free range” pie. Having a lot of artistic license can be daunting. Unless you’re Hoods. We went away to our drawing tables and computer stations and doodled up concepts, created rough mockups, and then sent them to Music City for feedback. We gave them a variety of retro and modern cinematically themed logos that shied away from the kitschy, typical portrayals.

After the powers behind the project honed in their faves, we cut the losses on the stragglers, and focused in on their final choice, refining it into the final logo shown here. Then the logo was used for branding their Facebook page and collateral for the show. Unlike most songs made in Nashville, this story ended happily, no dogs died, no drafts ran dry, no wives found any mistresses, and the train made it on time. Oh, and the film festival got branded.
